This win for Alabama was historic as it was the first of back to back National Championships for the University.  In the background, a mass of Crimson Tide players celebrate Alabama's 14th Championship, and gather around Coach Nick Saban as he holds the Coach's Trophy.  At season's end, Alabama's defense was the first team since the Oklahoma Sooners of 1986 to lead the nation in every major statistical category.  Barrett Jones won both the Outland Trophy and the Wuerffel Trophy, and Trent Richardson won the Doak Walker Award and was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year.  Seven players were named to All-American Teams, eight players were selected in the NFL Draft, and six payers signed as free agents.

Rick Rush is a nationally recognized artist and has been appropriately called America's Sports Artist.  He was named Sports Artist of the Year in 2011.  Through his masterful interpretation and rich, evocative use of color, Rush is able to preserve some of sports' most stellar transitory moments as enduring commemorative testaments to the magnificence of both the exciting sports events and their incomparable athletes.
